Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
1. Who We Are
casinocuracao.co.uk is an independent editorial website that publishes reviews, comparisons and guides covering Curacao-licensed online casinos for an audience based in the United Kingdom. We are not a casino operator: we do not run gambling games, we do not hold player balances, and we do not process bets or payouts. For the purposes of UK data-protection law, we act as the data controller for the limited personal information described in this Privacy Policy. This page explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. What Data We Collect
We deliberately collect as little personal information as possible. The data we do handle falls into three small categories:
- Information you submit voluntarily. If you contact us through the form on our Contact page, we receive the name, email address and message you choose to provide. We use this only to respond to your enquiry.
- Cookie and consent preferences. When you make a choice in the cookie consent banner, that choice is stored in your browser's local storage so we do not have to ask you again on every visit. The preference itself never leaves your device.
- Aggregated analytics data. If website analytics is enabled, we collect anonymised, aggregated data about how visitors use the Site — pages viewed, approximate region, referring source, device type and broad session duration. This data is used to understand which content is useful and where the Site can be improved.
3. What We Do NOT Collect
Because we are an editorial content site rather than a casino, there are several categories of data we never collect or process:
- We do not collect payment-card numbers, bank-account details, e-wallet credentials or any other financial information.
- We do not collect or hold any record of bets, deposits, withdrawals, balances or game outcomes — that data lives entirely with the casino operator you choose to play at.
- We do not collect copies of identity documents, proofs of address or other KYC materials. Any such documents you submit during a casino's verification process are handled by that casino under its own privacy policy.
- We do not run user accounts, password databases or social-login flows that would require us to hold authentication data.
- We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device to remember information between page loads or visits. Local storage is a similar mechanism that stores data directly in your browser. We use both sparingly:
- Strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the Site to function — for example to remember your cookie consent choice or to keep a navigation menu open as you move between pages. They cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies. If analytics is enabled and you have consented, anonymised analytics cookies help us measure aggregate traffic and improve the Site. You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie banner.
You can manage and delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Most modern browsers — Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, Brave — allow you to block cookies altogether or to delete them on a per-site basis. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may degrade some Site functionality. The Information Commissioner's Office publishes plain-English guidance on managing cookies that you may find helpful.
5. Third-Party Services
To run the Site we rely on a small number of trusted technology providers. Each is bound by its own privacy commitments and is engaged solely to deliver the service it provides:
- Hosting and database infrastructure. The Site runs on managed cloud infrastructure that hosts our codebase, our blog and review database, and our static assets. The provider processes traffic and storage on our behalf and is not authorised to use any data for other purposes.
- Content delivery network. A CDN may serve images and static files from a server geographically close to you in order to improve page-load speed.
- Analytics provider. If website analytics is enabled, an analytics service receives anonymised aggregate data only.
- Email delivery. If you contact us through the contact form, the resulting email is delivered through a transactional email service.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, and never longer than required by law. Specifically: contact-form submissions are retained for up to 24 months from the date of receipt so we can refer back to ongoing correspondence, after which they are deleted. Cookie-consent preferences are retained on your device for up to 12 months unless you clear them sooner. Aggregated analytics data is retained for up to 26 months in line with standard analytics defaults. Anonymous server logs are retained for up to 30 days for security-monitoring purposes.
7. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
Where we hold personal data about you, you have the following rights under UK GDPR, free of charge in most cases:
- Right of access — you can ask us for a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Right of rectification — you can ask us to correct any inaccurate personal data.
- Right of erasure — you can ask us to delete personal data we hold about you, subject to limited legal exceptions.
- Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to pause processing of your data while a query is resolved.
- Right to data portability — you can ask us to provide your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Right to object — you can object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in section 10. We will respond within one calendar month. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk.
8. Children
The Site is intended exclusively for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has submitted personal data to us through the contact form or another route, please contact us immediately and we will delete the relevant record from our systems.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our editorial scope, the technical infrastructure of the Site, our third-party processors, or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page for a reasonable period after publication. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we handle your information.
10. Contact
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, would like to exercise one of your rights under UK GDPR, or wish to raise any other data-protection concern, please contact our editorial team via the form on our Contact page or by email at info@casinocuracao.co.uk. We aim to respond to data-protection enquiries within five working days, and in any event within one calendar month as required by UK GDPR.
